Here's an opportunity for the whole family to get out running/walking.
The 18th annual Bramham Park Fun Run starts at 10:30am on Sunday 4th October 2015, raising money for Cancer Research UK.
This popular event offers a rewarding and enjoyable morning in the heart of Bramham Park, one of Yorkshire's beautiful estates. Most of the route is on tarmac paths and muddy surfaces with the occasional gentle hill. Two routes are offered: 5k and 10k circuits, designed for fun runners/walkers and is open to adults and children unaccompanied from the age of 12 years.
The new organisers: Beverley Firth and the helpful volunteering team who have taken over the fun run for the first time this year, say "I have witnessed Cancer take many from us: friends, colleagues and those closest to us and after setting up my own challenge last year (completing the equivalent of half a marathon every month for a year, throughout 2014) for this very important cause, I raised over £4,000. I have now been set another challenge which is to continue the hard work which Ann and Jeff Newton have previously done for this event, who have now decided to take a very well deserved retirement after 17 years of fundraising for Cancer Research UK, and raising £266,000! There is no plan to change what Ann and Jeff have been doing over the last eighteen years and they have given us a magnificent platform to build on. All we ask is for your continued support and we pledge to do everything in our power to continue this event at the high level that you are used to. Let's continue the fight against Cancer together!"
The run itself is great fun, and an enjoyable morning for all, back in time for Sunday lunch and supporting a great cause. Don't worry if you're not the fastest runner or the quickest walker, have fun!
